A final decision is yet to be taken on the Argentine's future, and president Rui Costa is expected to speak to the World Cup winner at the end of the season.
Silva's departure will come as a big blow for City, who are all set to bid farewell to club captain and ace midfielder De Bruyne. The Belgian confirmed earlier this month that he will depart the club this summer.
Silva and De Bruyne's City will be back in action in the Premier League this Saturday as they take on Everton at Goodison Park.
